4437

Well, part of growing up is moving out, right? These last few weeks have been just that- moving out of my childhood home. My mom recently up and moved to a smaller, more manageable house. I love the new house and am so excited to see it!

That being said, it's hard letting go of the house that I grew up in, of the street where I learned to ride my bike, of the trees I learned to climb. But that's ok. I'm going to keep the memories and make new ones in the new house.

Goodbye, 4437. You sure were good to us, and you will be just as good to the new family that gets to call you home.

CrazyLonelyYellow

Have you ever read the short story The Yellow Wallpaper? Well, for dance class, we decided to make an hour long piece (AN HOUR) about the yellow wallpaper that included elements of feeling crazy and even feeling lonely. It was a HUGE project that involved all sorts of projectors and video cameras, spoken text, as well as huge dance numbers. It was so much fun.

Here are some pictures taken backstage while we waited for what seemed like eternity to perform.

Macklemore Comes to Colby

Our spring concert was Macklemore this year. It was great. Excuse the blurry pics, but they're all I've got.

Home Stretch

So not much is going on here... Just chugging along for these last few weeks of school (less than 7 weeks until I graduate- home stretch indeed!). I've been super busy with my latest dance endeavor, which means close to 30 hours of rehearsal a week for the last few weeks and the next one. I'll be sure to update you on how that went! Hopefully I can get a few pictures or even a video to share! I'll see what I can do.

And so, to get through today, here's a few pictures that I just dug up out of the archives:

Love

I saw this video on one of the blogs I read, and just had to share it again. It's so beautiful.

Apparently in 2010 an artist did a performance piece in the MoMA in New York where a performer sat in a chair and people could come sit in front of her and just look into her eyes for however long they wanted. One of the men who participated was a former love, whom the performer did not know would be there. According to what I've read, they had this huge romance in the 70s or 80s and then when it wasn't working out, they walked the Great Wall of China from each end where they met in the middle for one last hug, and presumably never to see each other again (until now).

Watch the video. It's incredible.
