Baking.

Thanks to my friend Sammy, I spent a day as a faux baker, working for a catering company. Which one? I couldn't tell you. But let me tell you, I can make cake pops with the best of them. I can also cut dough pretty well too. That's all I was allowed to do.

She didn't trust me with the knife at first. JK. But seriously.

Over Break...

Well, I'm back at Colby for my last JanPlan and my last semester as an undergrad. So crazy! But before we get into the full swing of things, here are a few pictures from my time at home. I have so many, that there will probably be a second post with the remainder.

On the Highline Trail, someone had set up a "Wishing Tree" and there were pieces of paper and pens to write your own wish/gratitude/idea and hang it from the tree. So cute!

The Holiday Season

We got pretty into the Holiday Season this year at school. Here are a few pictures with blurbs, but know that this is not nearly all of the activities that went on, holiday related.

'Tis The Season

I was feeling a little crafty last weekend so this is what I did:

It's a Christmas Countdown Chain! I have three categories: red is something I love or appreciate (concrete), green is something I love or appreciate (abstract), and blue is a small act of kindness that I have challenged myself to do that day.

These are all of the "items" lined up. 

So, I will cut one off of the chain (they were put into the chain in a random order) each day, as a countdown to Christmas. I'm hoping that it will bring me a little bit of happiness and gratitude in this season that is so marred by consumerism and greed. I'm dorky, I know, but I want this chain to remind me that there are a lot of big, important things that may be forgotten in the stress of finals and end-of-semester drama. 

I'll let you know how it goes. 

Paella and Movies

As of today, I have one week left in Ecuador. While it's exciting to think about returning to a place where I will be able to speak English and drink some Starbucks, it's really sad thinking of leaving everyone here. But, I promise to make the most of this upcoming week and hopefully document things that happen between final papers, exams and presentations.

Yesterday we were invited to my friend Kaya's house for a "goodbye" lunch of paella and sangria. Yummy!

After that, we went to Hannah's house and watched "Crazy Stupid Love" which was adorable. And today, I'm going with the family and the cousins to see Gato en Botas which should be fun as well.
