Spring Break

Sorry I haven't posted in a while- I was on break! I went home for the week to help clean and pack up the house (mom is moving!), so here's what ensued:

Furniture shopping. Peter would love the huge orange couch...

The first robin of the season!

Typical family time. But now I have just less than 8 weeks until graduation, then I'm off to my next adventure!

Over Break...

Well, I'm back at Colby for my last JanPlan and my last semester as an undergrad. So crazy! But before we get into the full swing of things, here are a few pictures from my time at home. I have so many, that there will probably be a second post with the remainder.

On the Highline Trail, someone had set up a "Wishing Tree" and there were pieces of paper and pens to write your own wish/gratitude/idea and hang it from the tree. So cute!

The chandelier that Katie made over the dance floor out of an Aspen tree and glass balls. So cool!

Congrats Katie and Pete! It was truly a perfect day and I wish you all the happiness and love that you deserve!

Pete and Katie's Wedding, Part 1

So on September 29, 2012 my cousin Katie got married to Pete at the ranch, and I used my free airline ticket to fly home for 72 hours and spend the amazing weekend with the family. It was so great! Katie was SOO happy all day, which in turn made everyone around her happy.

I have so many pictures of the wedding, that I will post them in two separate posts. Cool?

This is their invitation that they sent out- authentic aspen leaf and handmade paper! So crafty.

Before going up to help with the hay this summer, I was privileged with the opportunity to go to one of Katie's dress fittings. This is her saying "don't worry, the boots won't be a problem."

The day of the event! Alex, me and Sarah.

Riding in the wagon up to the meadow for the ceremony: Peter (my brother, not the groom), Alex, and ring-bearer/man's best friend/dog Bailey.

Peter B. and Paul (my cousins and Katie's younger brothers) greet ceremony attenders under the aspen arch. Katie and Pete (the groom) are hugging Opah (grandfather) in the background.

Adam Comes To Visit (and a roadtrip)

So, I convinced my friend Adam to fly out, spend a few days in Colorado and then drive to Maine with me at the end of summer. I don't know what made him say yes, but it was great! We did a few things in and around Denver and then spent three days driving through 11 states. Phew!

Hay Season

One of the last things I did this summer (I know, it's almost the end of September, but I still have things to talk about from this summer!) was help out at my cousin's ranch during the hay season. Basically, I learned how to drive a tractor and what "tetting" means (there are so many steps in the baling process!). I'm almost a legit cowgirl now.
Planning the day.

Morning trail ride.

It was a great weekend, and it felt so good to do some physical labor and get some horse-time in. It was also really great visiting with all the family!
